How to care for Amirose®
Rosa Amirose® is as strong as beautiful, not sensitive to diseases like powdery mildew, and easy to grow. This pollinator-friendly variety grows up to 40 cm high and 50 cm wide, prefers a spot in full sun to semi-shade in fertile, well-drained soil, and is hardy up to -18 ºC.
Planting in the ground:
Choose a sunny, well-drained spot. Dig a hole twice the size of the pot, loosen the soil and mix in some well-rotted compost or rose food. Remove the rose from its pot, tease out the roots, and plant at the same depth it was growing in the pot. Firm in and water well.
You’ve purchased Rose ‘Amirose®’:
When it arrives: Take your rose out of the box as soon as you can. Remove any packaging and give it a good drink of water if the soil feels dry. Keep it in a sheltered spot until you’re ready to plant.
Planting in a pot:
Pick a container at least 30 cm in diameter with drainage holes. Use a quality multipurpose or rose-specific compost, and add a layer of gravel or crocks for drainage. Plant it at the same level as the pot and water thoroughly.
Amirose® buds open to a soft peach, slowly washing into baby pink, then deepening into blush with a darker centre. It's a colour-changing display that keeps you second-guessing which shade you'll find each morning. Add to that a fragrance that's richer and fruitier than your average rose - with a definite hit of raspberry - and you've got a plant that simply delights!!
